Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Diode Dynamics SS3 Sport LED Combo Pod Light with Bracket. This three-inch LED combo pod light is gonna be great for seeing near and far. It's gonna give you bright light with reduced glare for improved visibility and safety. As you can see, I do have this already connected to my power source, which you're currently seeing right now is the backlight, which is one of my favorite features of these lights. But more on that later.

I do wanna point out that I have this light installed with the bracket that it comes with. It does come with hardware to install the light into the bracket. And then with the bracket, you're gonna be able to adjust the angle of the light to wherever you want it. Then once you have that angle, just tighten down the hardware on either side. You're also gonna get the hardware to mount the bracket with the light virtually anywhere on your vehicle.

This bracket's gonna give you a firm base for your light on your vehicle. And here's a bracket that's not installed. It is constructed of durable aluminum, so it's very sturdy. It's gonna be long-lasting for you. You're not gonna have to worry about corrosion or anything like that.

Now, shutting my studio lights off here, I just wanted to give you a view of what this amber backlight looks like in low light or dark conditions. And I went back to my wide view so you can see what it's gonna look like from a distance. So this amber back light's gonna be great for giving you a stylish touch or for more visibility when you're not using that main beam. Now, speaking of that main beam, let me fire that up for you just so you can see the difference. So here's that amber backlight again, and then our combo beam.

And then let me see if I can turn this to the wall behind me just to show you that beam. That combo pattern beam is a mix between a driving beam and a flood beam. So this is going to be great for all-around use. And that light color has a. The light, rather, has a color temperature of 6,000 Kelvin. So that white color is gonna match most of your factory LED lights. And it's a really crisp, pristine color. So it's really gonna add a lot to your visibility. Now, this light does have a raw lumen rating of 2,262 Candela. I'm gonna turn my studio lights back on here just so you can see that even with my bright studio lights, you can still see that beam pattern and that light. So again, very bright. So again, the raw lumen rating is 2,262 lumens, and the measured lumen rating is 1,520 lumens. Now, this light does have a peak beam intensity of 31,500 Candela, and Candela ratings measure the directional light output, and it's how anything is rated where you want lights shining in a specific direction. Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional output, like your regular light bulbs where you want light shining in all directions. But for a more detailed description of these ratings, you can visit this product page on our website or Diode Dynamics provides additional information that you can find. Now, the power draw on that main beam is 1.1 amps, and on the backlight it's 0.03 amps. And this light has been designed with a newer technology known as custom TIR optics. TIR stands for total internal reflection. So unlike the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses, which aren't real efficient at focusing all that light where you want it, this custom-designed large TIR optic actually collects and then focuses all of that light forward very efficiently. And instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly into this lens surface. So what that means for you is that's gonna prevent the normal efficiency loss you see with an outside lens. As you might know, when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you're going to lose up to 10% of that light just from it shining through. So by making it as a part of this lens, you're not gonna lose efficiency, but actually gain some efficiency. Now, this does include the industry standard integrated Deutsch-style connector. So of course, I'm using that pigtail right now to power this light. But here's what that pigtail looks like when it's not in use, so you see that connector. And while we're looking at the back of the light, I wanna try to show you the breather patch that you can see right there. That breather patch is gonna prevent any moisture buildup. Then, as you can see here, we've got heat sinks on the back of the housing, and they're gonna do a great job of dissipating heat quickly to increase the longevity of this light. And this light has been built with high-intensity LED chips, and it does feature a durable powder-coated aluminum construction. So that heavy-duty construction is going to do a great job of withstanding extreme temperatures. Corrosion and vibration testing has been completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components on your vehicle. And an interesting fact. Diode Dynamics actually designed, and engineered, and assembled this light right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the Greater St. Louis area. Let's talk measurements. Looking at the overall width from end to end, we're sitting at about 3 1/4 inches. That's gonna be the same measurement for the height as well. But of course, as you know, when you add that bracket, it is going to make this a little bit taller. So measuring from the top of the light to the bottom of our bracket, we're sitting pretty close to 3 3/4 inches tall. And then looking at the depth from the front of the light to the end of our heat sinks, we're pretty close to 2 3/8 inches deep. Now, this light does draw high current and it does require adequately-sized wiring for safe operation. So if you're not using a Diode Dynamics Wiring Harness, be sure that you're using wiring that's sized at 16 gauge or larger to ensure safe operation.
